The elements of harmony being gone is a very interesting and welcome development, as they're a bit of a Deus Ex Machina. Plus it could point to more involvement of Discord, which is always a good thing.

The weird boxy thing might imply there'll be a proper season plot this time around.

Also, how great was getting new Ponies and new Who on the same day?

That battle between Celestia and Nightmare Moon. :eek:

"A show for little girls" sprang to mind.

While I love the increased quality of the animation, it's very jarring at first. Really different from the previous season. Much more depth and range.

There wasn't anything I actually didn't really like about it. I will admit the characters did seem a bit out of character at some points. Telling Twilight to leave them was a bit odd. When I first heard it I honestly thought they were under a spell or something.

Apart from that though, it's up there with the great episodes! Well paced and a decent, non rushed ending.

Watched it with the kids today. It has potential.... the changes will take some getting used to, but I like it.

I may have laughed a bit too much when Nightmare Moon plasmaed (lol) at Celestia. But, in my defence, I friggin' hate Celestia.

Best pony AND best Princess in the opening sequence now. And a cheeky little Discrd too. Gonna be good

Also, sowing the seeds of Discord. Boom boom :P

Great Episodes, The Celestia/ NMM battle was really well done. I liked that we finally got some historical context of what went down "1000 years ago". It gives the whole thing more depth.

Retiring the Elements of harmony was a bold move, but It was good in a way, because it was getting a bit old. It might set up some good future discord episodes too.

I'm keeping away from this thread from now on, at least for a little because of spoilers :P
I haven't seen any of these episodes yet, are they as good as the previous ones? The last episode of season 3 was beautiful and I almost shed a little tear :) ... though I must confess I was a little bit concerned about future episodes

The whole box thing is a bit...eh. Not sure how they're going to do that so it doesn't feel "cheap". If it's empty, people will go crazy. If it's a new crown, people will go crazy.
