Avensis water pump, DIY job?

    Hi all,

I need to change the water pump in my avensis, as it has not been changed the last 2 timing belt changes.

It is the 1cd-ftv engine 2004 model with timing belt. The service manual says a lot has to be removed to get at the pump, as the injector drivers are bolted to it.

Has anyone done one of these, and is it as bad as I think? The manual advises Removing the fuel lines with a special tool, can this be done with something else?

I have done timing belts and water pumps on loads of other cars without issue, but I think this one might get me!

    THanks,

    Ken
