Ultimate Hangover cure - stock cube

A strange Polish guy once told me that drinking a cup of stock will cure any hangover. I am absolutely in bits after a load of Weiss beer and Guinness, few glasses of port last night. I'm sitting on the toilet right now, my hole is in ribbons.

I'm going to try this stock cube method and report back.

4 pints cures any hangover, provided you leave it at 4 and go home.

I never understand this when people say it. Now I like a good charge of pints as much as the next man, Prob every weekend or so.

In my years drinking though, I've never been sat on the jacks next morning with 'hole in ribbons '

    You're doing it wrong Imo.

    My sympathies to your hole.

I have to agree with the other poster who suggested a few pints to sort yourself out. It will normally cure any hangover within a very short space of time as your brain quickly senses the life giving amber nectar restoring the balance in your body. You don't even need food first. That will just wreck your stomach.

Heed the poster's warning though regarding not going over 4 pints. Then things just start to get messy. You will be drinking meths by lunchtime if you head on that road.

Merseyside derby kicks off at 12:45, get yourself down the pub and and back on the beer in time for the game, it will cure you in no time.

It's time I got up and got ready to hit the pub myself!

Lol. RIP Encrustment. 'Twas a good life only to be cut short by an exploding hole brought on by a heavy night on the sauce.

Can't beat the faint smell of last night's curry as it pebble dashes the inside of the toilet bowl the following morning.

Hangovers are mostly caused by dehydration so contrary to popular belief a big salty fry or breakfast roll isn't going to make you feel better. Lucozade sport or dioralyte to rehydrate you as fast as possible is the key.

Freshly squeezed mixed juice followed by a coffee.

The juice will help the liver and kidneys and the coffee will help the adrenals.

I recommend Lemon down near Jervis St Luas or Seven Wonders in the IFSC for both coffee and the juice.

If you're not in Dublin, I suppose a hang sambo and tae?

Just from personal experience, from back in the day (or even occasionally, still, these days)...

There are three levels of intensity of a hangover, in reverse order of seriousness (i.e. 3 is the worst)

    (1) Dehydration e.g. your thirsty (so drink non-alcoholic fluids)

    (2) Salt deficiency e.g. your stomach needs trunking (so have a fry-up)

    (3) Sugar deficiency e.g. when even walking is an issue (so drink sugary fluids)

The four-pint cure will take some edge off a hangover but will only prolong its length.

Lucozade won't rehydrate you any quicker than water.

Water is the best way to hydrate yourself.

    But the sugar really helps.

English soccer? The man needs a hangover cure, not a feckin' death sentence!
