    Guys,

Fairly new at pc building so looking for a little advice, I've been given the opportunity to get the below 3 items to start a new build instead of the one at the bottom of the post which is what I currently have, is it worth switching?

    New Setup:
    Mobo: MSI LGA2011 INTEL X79 8xDDR3 4xUSB3.0 GBE LAN ATX MOTHERBOARD ( X79A-GD65 (8D))
    CPU: INTEL CORE I7-4820K 3.7GHz QUAD-CORE
    RAM: 16GB Total ( CORSAIR VALUE SELECT 8GB MODULE DDR3 1600MHz )
I can get the above for €450

    Current set up.
    Mobo: Z87-GD65 GAMING MOBO
    CPU: 4670K CPU
    RAM: G-Skill 8GB(2x4GB) Ripjaws X DDR3 2133 Dual Kit - Red

I have all 3 on order through work so can cancel if needed but it's rare these 3 items are ever at these prices.

If current prices are to go by is it's worth it, but it's always great to get your opinon.

I'd be using it for gaming mainly.

It wouldn't be a bad upgrade assuming you can get about €300 for your current parts. It's still an extra €150 for something that's going to have very little to no impact in games though.

Even if that's all I got for those 3 items it's a profit of 10% compare to what I paid for them.

There's not much between the 2 CPU's according to the below.

Kinda tempted, wanna get my fingers working and build again, enojed it last time. Almost finshed my 2nd build and thinking ahead for parts, though it might be a good move.

I'll take your advice and sit on it for a few days.

Well it's a good build for the future. The extra ram won't do much for games at the moment but it can help in other tanks and it will eventually be needed. The same for the hyper threading on the i7. You would also have the option to upgrade to a 6 core / 12 thread processor on that socket down the line if you wanted even more power.

You might even get as much as €350 for your parts as they are all pretty new and still the latest processor and board socket. The new price would be about €450. The new price for the upgrade is about €600 so it is a bargain that will hold it's value.
