    Hi,

    I am hoping someone may be able to offer some advice.

    Long story short, i have a chipped/broken front tooth. The dentist stated that the filling (sorry dont know what its actually called) that will be put in to fix the tooth will need to be the same colour as my current teeth. Now, after years of smoking and pretty much neglecting the hygiene of my teeth, they are fairly discoloured.

    The question i have is, is it possible to get my teeth whitened so that when the dentist fixes my broken tooth the filling will be a decent shade of white, and not the same shade as my current discoloured teeth.

    I know that when the dentist fixes the tooth i will not be able to get my teeth whitened as they will be different shades then.

    Thanks!

    Yes, this is possible.

    you can;

    get the tooth temporarily sealed and then bleach them. Later do the permanent filling to suit the new shade

    or
    fill the tooth as is
    get bleached
    remove and replace the filling to match.....
