Duke of Lucca is a frustrating horse and should have more wins than he has, but think tomorrow represents a good chance for him to finally get his head in front. Think he wants a relatively flat three miles, he's 5lbs below his mark that he was third off in the Racing Post Chase earlier in the year. Did run poorly last time out but took some 10/1 each way.

Like Lord of House in the beginners chase at Ascot 1.30. Jumped great at Exeter in a better race then this until one blunder when nearly unseating Noel Fehily cost him any chance. Still very lightly raced having just his 8th start tomorrow. Not one for backing in beginners chases but this fella went in my tracker after the Exeter run. Charlie Manns stable is in a bit of form at the moment having had 3 winners from 15 runners this month.Think at decent odds he could be worth a bet in this race.

Some really good betting races in ascot tomorrow. Will definitely be having a couple of bets. Off to do some study... :-D

Think Up and Go @ 4/1 is worth another shot in the 2.30 at Haydock.

Bar 2 falls, he's unbeaten on soft or worse. He's had a big reputation and been talked up by McCain since easily beating The Tullow Tank by 12l in a p2p. Ground probably went against him when flopping as favourite at Aintree at the back end of last season but hopefully fences help him settle and bring out the best in him.

    Small bet

The Fixed Brush Novice Hurdle at 3.05 Haydock looks a blinding race. Likely market leader Urban Hymn was an impressive Point winner for Richard Barber and has subsequently bolted up on Rules debut in a bumper at Huntingdon for Malcolm Jefferson. In addition to Urban Hymn you have Classic Move who won by a distance in a P2P before finishing an excellent 3rd to Moyle Park at the Punchestown Festival for Don Cantillon. Wasn't all that impressive when winning for Donald McCain but the yard weren't really firing then and he should definitely appreciate going up in trip on hurdling debut. Spirit Of Shankly brings some very decent hurdling form to the table but has to shoulder a penalty whilst Nicholls' Varom also has some nice enough form in the book and should come on for his recent hurdling debut. Chuck in the bang in form Fergal O'Brien's Point winner Up The Ante making his rules debut and its potentially a very nice race. First 3 home could easily end up being quite smart.

If Desoto County is a price,he is the one but that is a huge maybe. The whole of North Dublin will/is on him for the Rooney family.

I took some 4/1 Up And Go

Conceding chasing experience but receiving weight.

Will have another look at the first at Ascot, Chemical's is shortening so might make a decent price on Champage West who was very well backed first time out but had an excuse (loose horse was a prick, eh Johner!)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,564 ✭✭✭kiers47

That was quite impressive from hendersons there. I have a feeling he could have a good day. Have taken some 2/1 on Simply Ned here in the next in Haydock. Receiving weight and jumped for fun the last day. There is question marks about the other 3 so 2/1 looks a great price to me.

Fago done that very nicely great round of jumping par the last two.

He did alright. Irving vs Tradewinds in the next. Looks a match and all the money is for Hendersons.

Dundalk 8.20 Percelli Road 7/2.Last time out he was murdered up the rails at Dundalk when hard held 7th at the line.A 73 and 71 rated just in front of him reads well against the hot fav.The Visitor was well beaten by a 69 rated last time out.Pyromanic is very badly drawn but his recent win was decent and he only got 5lb hike. This could well be the best handicapped on the card.

Somebody go mad and offer some 4/5+ please!!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,370 ✭✭✭rossom

I think 3.05 Haydock Classic Move 13/2 looks a very decent each way bet. He arguably has the strongest collateral form in the book on his 3rd at Punchestown in a race that has thrown up 9 winners.

Hendersons is being very well backed and has some nice bumper form.

    Easy peasy.

Dont really fancy anything else for the rest of the day. Small profit going into the weekend after 1 winner and a loser. :pac:

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,224 ✭✭✭jimjamcos

Up and Go found zilch there. Definitely a horse to steer clear off from now on.

Worrying how bad mccains horses are running at the
Moment. Hopefully there is a curve ball in classic
    Move

I quite liked Nicholls horse to win this race but had no bet so good luck with it.
I always find McCains horses to be very hit and miss. Very hard to assess.

I personally think Classic Move is definitely the horse to take away from the Fixed Brush Novice. Pulled like a train for ages and I think he did incredibly well to finish as close as he did. Travelled better than Urban Hymn but his tank was empty as a result of being so keen.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 52 ✭✭Jimmyod19

Well lads, i didnt back what i said i would as in classic move to be placed or Ballyculla to win. Both did so foooooookkkkkkkkkkk!

Back that Nicholls donket TBP and lost my bollocks!

    Im an idiot!

Regal Power looks interesting on his first run for Johnny Murtagh. [19:50]
Won off a mark of 71 in June and is back down to 73 now with the jockey claiming another 10lbs off that.
Was runner-up off 83 in summer of 2012, so definitely on a winning mark.

Was in Boyles an hour ago, checked up the prices board for Armed Guard, first reserve. He was priced at 8/1, now he's a non-runner it seems. Was he ever a runner ?
    Edit: race is 6.50

He was the only reserve they'd priced up so I assumed it was running. Ah well, my RP Downey double is just a single now. Think 'twas you flagged him up Urban.

Ladbrokes didnt mark him up but boyles and pp did as I was hoping it would get in. Looks like it didnt

    Two I like tonight.

6.50 Dundalk Noble Call 6/1 ran a good second behind Sabrina Harty's improving Neds Indian here 9 days ago having conceded the winner first run and having to be switched wide right around the outside having met some trouble. He races here off the same mark and although its slightly concerning he's still a Maiden after 24 starts he has placed in 8 of those and I don't think he has much wrong with his attitude. Young apprentice Tom Madden (who I was impressed with LTO) retains the ride in this Apprentice handicap and claims 7lb and with the step up to 12f sure to suit I'm hoping for a very big run.

7.20 Dundalk Rummaging 5/2 won with a bit more in hand than the neck margin suggests 9 days ago and I think a 4lb rise is very fair. The drop back to 6f should be no problem and I'm hoping he breaks on terms from stall 1 (can be slow away) as it could prove a big hindrance if he's tardy.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,370 ✭✭✭rossom

Noble Call ran as flat as a pancake.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,370 ✭✭✭rossom

Shane Foley will probably get a ban for barging his way through the gap but money was on for 2nd consecutive week. Rummaging miles too good despite get no run for ages.

Result stands. Was never getting overturned. Foley will get a ban though I'm sure.
