Anybody know the name of the bright star that can be seen to the south west in the evenings after sunset? I have looked for info on it but cant see anything. Thanks

if you've an Android phone check out Google's Sky Map - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.stardroid - just point the phone at the point of interest in the sky and it shows the stars and constellations. magic!
