Potentially stupid upgrade question: use new sim, or old one?

So I've just upgraded my phone with Three, and even though it's the same type of sim as my old one (both iPhones) they sent me a new sim pack with the new phone. Should I activate the new sim and use that, or just take the old sim from my old phone & stick it in the new one? Does it make any difference either way? I'm guessing sim cards don't wear out too often...

(Apologies if this is a really, really stupid question..! :o )

UPDATE: Turns out they are different sizes. (Didn't think they could make them any smaller! Crikey!) Feel free to delete this thread, dear mods..!
