Why are Vauxhall Vectras so cheap?

    Im looking to buy one 04 onwards, they seem very cheap and i dont know much about cars. Can someone tell me why they seem to be going for peanuts?
    Also i hear CDTI is the best engine any ideas?

    They depreciated faster than a lead balloon. Never had the badge appeal of the VW/Audi/Skodas etc.

    Bit like the Citroen C5, there is some good bargains out there now with them. I personally wouldn't buy one though.

    There a grand car but can have stupid problems. Id buy one. The 2 litre diesel sport is fast and fun and I can get better mpg than in a 1.6 130bhp diesel.

    The Citroen was a decent enough car but with a few reliability issues. The Vectra was always just crap though.

    i bought a 03 2.0d SXi last year for €1900. in fairness it was great and bar one or two tiny issues it was very reliable and absolutely soaked up 5-600 miles a week with ease. sold it on for more than i paid after 6 months too.

    i was sceptical buying it because they were so cheap. it was certainly better spec'd than a comparable a4 or passat and half the price. i would recommend one. i think the main part of the depreciation is badge snobbery.
