just bought tickets for the 12th and 13th.

My youngest should be coming with me in theory but he's just started at a local Air Training Corps squadron and may be one of the many cadets that help out at RIAT.

It's been answered a few times Paddy if you search the forum for it.
Flights via Dublin to Bristol for starters.
If you don't find it let us know.

well, RIAT just a short time away and the weather is looking good in this part of the world (too hot/humid for me....)

Email today says that Saturday tickets are sold out.

Having bought tickets for the Saturday and Sunday (not allowed time off work for Friday), youngest son comes home with a letter from school - he has a space in the Techno Zone Schools Engineering Challenge on the Saturday; free ticket for himself and a complimentary ticket for me...

I'm heading over on the Sunday...... out and back Shannon to Birmingham in the one day......

    Looking forward to it.

Heading over by Ferry on Tuesday, then Wednesday and Thursday in the Park and View watching the arrivals and display practice, Show on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Catch the departures on Monday and then home the next day for a long rest...:D
Until Sunday and the Bray show anyway....;)

I did RIAT in 2013 but wasn't very impressed with the facilities for the 'official' show attendees; uncomfortable seating and the aircraft were mostly small dots ( except the TriStar :) )

If I go again I'll be camping on one of the farms and watching from outside the fence; the display line is hundreds of metres closer - literally.

Has anyone heard if the IAC are sending anything to RIAT? They are on the invited list, but have nothing on the confirmed list

    No F-35.......

F-35 combat jet's UK debut at Fairford Air Tattoo cancelled
The first UK appearance of the combat jet due to be used on Britain's new aircraft carriers has been cancelled.

It was hoped the F-35B Lightning IIs would be at the Royal International Air Tattoo in Fairford, Gloucestershire which, starts on Friday.

But last week the entire fleet of F-35's was grounded in the US following an engine fire.

There is still some optimism that the jet might appear at the Farnborough Air Show which starts on Monday.

The disaster rolls on to the next chapter.......

really enjoyed this years RIAT. Found Saturday very hot; Sunday a bit cooler thankfully.

Particularly liked the Su 22's, the Orliks, Spartan, L39 and A400M.

Whatever the Solo Turk commentator was drinking, I'd like some. Great enthusiasm.

Didn't know about the FAAM planes so interesting to get some background on them.

The USN Poseidon seemed to be well guarded. In contrast to the Japanese KC767 which seemed to welcome all for a wander around.
