Immersion heater - Really hot water

    Hi,

Have just moved into a house and the hot water is absolutely scalding hot. I know a little about immersion heaters but not lots!

I went to turn down the thermostats on the heating elements to find them both at 60(ish) but as I was turning the temperature the top one was clicking as if it was going on and off but when I did this to the bottom one no click at all. Would I be right in saying that the thermostat is gone in the bottom element making the water scalding hot?

    Is this an easy fix?

    Thanks!
