PS VITA losing down loaded games

My son's PS VITA keeps losing games which he has down loaded. About a month ago he lost 5/6 games which he had down loaded. So he down loaded the same games again, now these games have disappeared again this evening anyone know what is causing this

Is he setting up a new account? Downloadable games are tied to the account that downloaded them. Also if he is switching accounts he will have to format the vita memory card which wipes everything from it.

Is he formatting the memory card by accident ?.

Is he swapping his memory card with other people ?.
