This is one we have being chasing for for quite some time now and have finally managed to made it happen. Subb-an makes his Irish debut with Melodic in The Twisted Pepper on December 14th.

Subb-an, a co-founder of One Records, has had a massive couple of years with huge releases on Crosstown Rebels, Visionquest and Saved to name but a few. These coupled with gigs at the likes of Panorama Bar, Warehouse Project, Fabric, DC10, BPM Festival & Glastonbury have seen this mans stature rise year on year.

    SUBB-AN
Subb-an’s rapid rise to prominence as a DJ, producer and one of the most exiting new British live acts of recent years is testament to his hard work, natural talent and wholehearted commitment to underground electronic music. Named as DJ Magazines ‘Best Breakthrough DJ’ in their 2011 end of year awards and 79 in RA’s 2012 Top 100 DJs. Subb-an’s prodigious studio talents have seen him release on his own One Records, Visionquest, Crosstown Rebels, Spectral and Saved, to name but a few, and deliver highly acclaimed remixes of Jamie Woon, Tiga, Lana Del Ray, Blood Orange and Noir & Haze, which went to Number One on Beatport, in addition to gearing up to unleash his debut artist album on Crosstown Rebels in early 2014. Outside of the studio he is a regular feature at clubs and festivals all over the world including fabric (London), Panoramabar (Berlin), DC10 (Ibiza), Warehouse Project (Manchester), Movement (Detroit), D’Edge (Sao Paolo), The Electric Pickle (Miami), Just Jack (Bristol), Glastonbury Festival (Pilton), The Bob Beaman (Munich), BPM (Mexico), and Hideout (Croatia).

This success hasn’t been earned overnight. At just 25 years old, Ashique ‘Subb-an’ Subhan has done much more in his career in dance music than many artists twice his age. He first started DJing when he was just fourteen years old and enrolled on a digital music production course at the age of sixteen. Since then he hasn’t looked back, graduating with a top degree in sound design from Birmingham City Uni in 2009. While most students spend their time at university getting drunk and decorating statues with traffic cones, Subb-an, along with best friends Adam Shelton and Lee McDonald, founded Below, one of the UK’s most cherished underground clubbing institutions. Drawing inspiration from summers spent at DC10 in Ibiza, Below threw its first party in the back room of the Rainbow pub in Digbeth, Birmingham back in 2005. Since then it’s gone from strength to strength, becoming an overnight success story, so much so that Adam and Lee ended up buying the pub soon after. Over the last eight years it’s seen the likes of Sven Vath, Loco Dice, Jamie Jones, Seth Troxler and Mathias Tanzmann headlining sold out parties that continue to draw crowds of clued-clubbers from all over the UK. During this time the main constant at Below has been Subb-an, the club’s star resident who quickly became a local hero, never ceasing to impress with his innovative DJing skills and occasional live sets made up of a mixture of his own productions and re-edits of his favourite tracks from other artists.

The 2008 release of his debut track ‘Italia’ on Matt Tolfrey’s Leftroom records, earned widespread praise from Mixmag, DJ Mag and IDJ and quickly gained support from some of figureheads of the industry, including Richie Hawtin, Laurent Garnier, Sasha, Paul Woolford and Luciano to name but a few. Six years later, Subb-an’s discography reads like a ‘Who’s Who’ of underground house and techno’s biggest labels with releases on Visionquest, Crosstown Rebels, Spectral, Hot Creations, Saved, Silver Network, Leftroom, BPitch Control and 2020 Vision. As a result of his highly praised production output Subb-an was named the third most charted artist of 2011 on Resident Advisor.

    THE ONE RECORDS FAMILY
In 2009, Subb-an and Adam Shelton set up their own ‘One Records’ label as a platform for their own productions alongside tracks from other respected artists. Now with over twenty five releases under their belt, featuring tracks and releases from the likes of Dan Genacia, Burnski, Anthea, DJ W!ld, Alex Arnout, Jamie Jones and Kris Wadsworth, the One Records brand continues to blosom. In addition Ash and Adam continue to throw a series of sold-out label parties at some of the world’s best-loved underground venues including fabric (London), Watergate (Berlin), Rex Club (Paris), The W (Barcelona), The Bob Beaman (Munich) and Teknicolour (Leeds). Ash and Adam are now spearheading a crew of like-minded house-heads forming the extended One Records family, that includes the likes of rising star John Dimas, The Martinez Brothers, Dan Genacia, Alex Arnout, Yamen & Eda, Jordan Peak and Sam.u.l and Burnski, who together will form the future nexus of one of the most influential forces to be reckoned with in underground music.

    VISION COLLECTOR
The basement celebrates the launch of Vision Collectors Records debut release, a 3-track EP by Dublin DJ / Producer Nathan Jones. Nathan has been making waves throughout the past year and his tracks have been picked up by the likes of DVS1 and Boris.

Support is on the night is from Shane Linehan of Pogo and Vision Collector resident Cian Byrne Little. 2013 has been a breakout year for Cian and has seen him perform at festivals such a Life, Longitude and Samhain.
