I have a 2012 model Samsung UE40ES5500 TV, recently I have noticed "white" shading appearing upwards from the bottom of the screen on both sides. Its very noticeable on white/grey pictures on screen

I have attached a photo of it.

Is there an easy fix for this or is it a case of contacting Samsung support (TV is still in warranty as it was purchased in March of this year)

I think its called ghosting, quite common with Samsung tv's.

I had this on mine when I first bought it. Do a google search, there are plenty of suggestions of things to try before you do what fixed it for me instantly....

Which was, take a cloth suitable for dusting down a tv screen and VERY GENTLY rub the white patches in a circular motion a few times. This cleared it instantly. No doubt people will tell you not to do it, they may be right, but it did work for me. VERY GENTLY though.

Did it permanently fix it or does it reoccur?

Never did, it really annoyed me when I bought the tele. But did the rub thing and it's fine since, about a year ago
