    Fair Fcuks to him!

Glad to see he wasn't bet down enough to stand up and fight again.

"I will be seeking leave to introduce the Cannabis Regulation Bill 2013 at first stage to the Dáil in the next half an hour.
    12:39 PM - 20 Nov 2013"

You'd think politicians would have more important things to be doing, It's sounds like a junior cert debate at this stage!

I'm not really up on the workings of the Dail but wasn't this defeated already by a huge majority...

Can he just keep requesting it? Is there no time limit or anything?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,073 ✭✭✭gobnaitolunacy

Can he not do something constructive and give the personal crusade a rest for a change?

TDs in work in Dail Eireann on a cold November morning? He could be the only one there.

I never expected to dislike a TD so much, who would support the legalisation of cannabis.

    But he's actually that annoying.

Since when is seeking societal change a personal crusade?

He's putting his bill forward again, plan is to campaign for the bill and hold another vote next November. He's not letting it go thankfully.

While it is something of a personal crusade in that he's the only one making this stand, it's not like he's the only person in the country that wants this. He is promoting the ideas of a large chunk of the Irish population.

    legal weed for all
except ming ... that would be a fantastic outcome

There's an even larger chunk of the Irish population has more to think about than legalising cannabis. His constituents alone have more pressing concerns than legalising cannabis.

As much time and taxpayers money as other politicians are wasting, Luke Flanagan is not only wasting time and money but he's also wasting space. At this point I can't think of a worse representative to campaign for the legalisation of cannabis, except maybe Gandalf Wallace beside him.

Ming is one of the greatest politicians to set foot in the Dail ever. God bless him. If only there was more like him there.

Well done to all those involved!

Would he not wear a shirt and tie, he looks like a right chancer.

    oh wait..............

    oh wait..............

You've come to the realisation that the ones wearing suits are chancers too?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,527 ✭✭✭BoardsMember

If ever there was a case for not legalising he's it. What a nitwit. In a dodgy geansaí.

And comparing it to legalising contraception and divorce. They have nothing to do with it. They were the legacy of the Catholic Church calling the shots. Cannabis is something completely different.

His basic reasoning - loads of people break the law by using cannabis, change the law. Brilliant. On that basis, the speed limit needs to be dramatically increased, we need to promote littering, support cyclists breaking red lights, encourage j-walking.
