    I am going to be borrowing a friends car ( fiat multipla) it has three front seats is it safe or legal to put an 8 month old rear facing in the middle seat ?

    If it has an airbag that can't be disabled then it's dangerous along with illegal. If it can be disabled it should be OK, plenty of vans driving around with 3 seats.

    We have a van with three seats, we put the baby seat in the seat on the left, it's too bulky and bumps into the drivers arm otherwise.

    If there is sufficient space in the back for the baby then it must be in the back but if there is no space then it can go upfront.
