Always loved those old Seikos and also reckon one of the old originals is still in the bargain section of the vintage world(but rising fast. A couple of years ago a half decent early 70's job could be had for a couple of hundred quid).

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.

Wow, that is a pretty in depth article and review.

The two most awaited homages this year were the PRS68 and the Dagaz Typhoon but I feel both fell short of the iconic 6105.

The PRS68 is a nice looking watch but the dial is poor and looks like any of the $10 knock offs coming from the Phillipines that some are putting on their original 6105's and really cheapens the watch. Timefactors should have put their own spin of the dial and come up with something fresher. The movement is the really nice Citizen 9015 but seems odd in a homage to a Seiko watch. At £485, approx $780 there is a lot better on the market.

Jake at Dagaz has also got it wrong by putting a 7S26 movement in his version, surely the 6R15 would have been a much better choice with hack and handwind option.

If I had to spend my money on either it would be on the Dagaz version, at $350 which is less than half the price of the PRS68 and because of the Seiko movement it will allow you to modify it to your hearts content.

Not sure if I'd want to mod this and the citizen movement is very well regarded is supposedly top notch so not sure if I buy those 2 arguments against the prs. It is a lot more expensive than the Dagaz version though. I'd love to see a review comparing both.
