Recording telephone conversations?

    Hi guys

Want to ask a very simple yet difficult to answer question:

Is it legal in Ireland to record telephone conversations without the consent of the other party - provided this recording will not be broadcast or publicly released in any audible capacity?

To my understanding, it is legal for one party to the conversation to record a phone call without the permission of the other party. This is also the case in all but eleven of the US states. Is it the case in Ireland?

    Thanks
