Scratching my head with this issue and cannot find anything out there that describes same issue.

When I open the boot on my 2008 VW Golf 1.9 TDi the boot light initially comes on but then switches off as you raise the rear door. It stays on for about the first two feet of opening and then goes off again. When closing it comes on again at the same spot as you are lowering then switches off when closed.

So it seems that the micro switch is working just fine but what would trigger it to go off as you are raising it?
