repeating the leaving, got a b1 in ordinary level Maths first time around with practically no study, would it be possible to take up applied Maths at this stage in the year in ordinary level, if so could anybody offer me advice on notes, books etc, and what grade would be plausible to achieve in the leaving certificate this year. Thanks :)

Well applied maths is closer to physics then maths, if your good at physics (especially the mechanics sections) then a C or even B is possible. One good thing is the exam barely changes each year. I think there is only one book (I forgot its name), really though it doesn't take long at all if your good but if your not it can be awful. You should look at the book first if possible and see if you can understand basics. http://mathwiki.ucdavis.edu/Calculus/Vector_Calculus/Vector-Valued_Functions_and_Motion_in_Space/Velocity_and_Acceleration
this is slightly harder than necessary, but if you understand it you could definetely understand leaving cert applied maths.
