Hi im looking to play airsoft as iv never went to try it before dont know anyone who plays it really and was wondering how would i go about getting onto a team or just playing?

I am from bray so any airsoft site near me would be best i can also travel if not to far away.

Could i just turn up at an airsoft site and play or how does it work?

Any help or advise would be great thanks

I'd say Hilltop Airsoft would be a good start and they have a good size village + a multi storey silo and quality games, they are in North Wicklow and Dave is the person to contact for more info:

Also, they have teams who play there and rental packages (AEG, Face Mask and BB's) available, here is a video of the site:

    Hope this helps :)

It goes without saying; you do not need to be in a team to enjoy airsoft. Most airsofters (despite the occasional argy-bargy that happens on forums world-wide) are a sociable bunch so you'll get chatting away to people in short order.

My son is 13 and on his first days airsofting he went on his own, and just slotted in with the other gamers - everyone was great. Most of his gaming is done when he goes on his own and just fits in with whoever's there.

In this respect, airsoft players should pat themselves on the back.

Been playing since May 2007; never been in a "team" outside of specific event-games so to speak and never really felt the need to do so either.

No no, just turn up! People are usually only too willing to talk about their kit/guns, etc. and it works well as a starting point for discussion if you don't know anybody else.
