Just been told a bit more about this 'Black Friday' that's coming up on the 29th of this month and wondering what the story is with regards to buying stuff in these sales...Is it possible from Ireland? Do they ship etc? Does anyone have any experience of doing this??

Some serious deals to be got if it's possible!

    32" LED TV for $99
    ipad mini $299
    etc
    etc

Assume it's the normal iPad mini at 299. That's the normal price now

Most of these deals are not available outside US and site will block you. Even if you could get tv , it would be 110 as opposed to 220 so not much use

It's really cyber Monday that's of more interest, unless you're actually in the US on the Friday.

You kinda have to look at it on a case by case basis - some stuff may ship to ROI but the majority most likely will not. Then you'll encounter difficulties paying with an Irish card etc. Their TV's, phones and game consoles can all be region specific, so buying blind without knowing what's what isn't advisable. You also have to be mindful of whether the products you're picking up offer a worldwide warranty & there are reports of Customs being increasingly hands-on at this end. There are mail forwarding services out there (some of whom will purchase on your behalf), but that's always seemed quite a convoluted way of making a saving to me.

Retailers this side of the pond are increasingly keen to cash in the 'Black Friday' phenomenon & I'm sure this forum will offer plenty of pointers on where to bag a deal over that period.

Don't forget you'll have to pay vat and assorted taxes/duties once they come into the country too.

    Black Friday isn't great.

Your better off shopping and getting exactly what you want for a decent price rather than buying something you didn't really want because it was cheap.

Think apple.ie gave something like €30 off iPads. PC world offering seems to be best though

haha funny you should mention PC world. I live quite close to the north up home so it's a handy trip over into PC world and as I've been on the lookout for cheap enough tablets for the last fortnight I thought i'd check out a deal they were offering on 2 different 7" versus tablets...one was £59 the other was £69 both then gave £10 cashback...decent specs etc but as usual with any PC world offer when I went to book it online to collect instore none were available anywhere in northern Ireland. I emailed them about it but don't expect a reply about what I think is just a marketing ploy. They had TV's on offer earlier this year and it was the same story then that there were none available! A complete joke!!
