Help with lag spikes in games

Hey guys, about three weeks ago I ordered a new build from HWVS. Got everything assembled just fine (and took the relevant precautions such as using a anti-static wrist strap, etc.) Everything seems to be running just fine stability wise bar one annoying problem.

To summarize the problem - I will get a lag spike randomly in 3d applications (from GTA III all the way up to bad company 2) The game(s) will normally resume running correctly however once I had the whole system lock up with a solid pink colour displayed on screen

The OS I was running originally was windows 8.1, however just to rule out software bugs, I tried w7 sp1 (with different drivers) so at least I can rule out software problems for sure. Ram also came back fine (8+ hour memtest)

The only way I can show you what exactly is happening is screenshots from GPU-Z (although I don't know if they are 100% accurate)

    Bad company 2 (GTX 770)

    Haven benchmark (GTX 770)

I also tired out my 660 in the system and it produced these readings

However, the very same 660 produces the same readings in a different computer, so I don't know if maybe those readings are normal.

So yeah, this problem has me really confused. Any ideas? I have already updated my UEFI and double checked connections.
