Katie Hopkins Vs Peaches Geldof on parenting

Katie Hopkins is at it again.

Now I am not a parent so in a way I don't have the knowledge but I do have a lot of baby cousins (7 under the age of 8, 4 of them are under the age of 2). So I have a lot babysitting duties for the last 8 years, so this is my experience.

If my cousin is crying for a genuine reason, I'm not going to ignore them, I don't like it. If they wouldn't go for there nap after 5/10 min. I would bring them down, No point them getting upset and making themselves sick. But if they are acting the maggot they are disciplined.

I remember there was one weekend a couple of years ago where we had the older two. They would have 1 and half and the other a couple of months old. Now the baby was with my mom and dad because of feeding and all that...so I didn't mind. But I had the oldest staying with me. He couldn't get to sleep because he had never stayed over at ours before. And his parents weren't there. He was all upset and crying and waking up all the time. So the only way I was getting any sleep was for him to stay with me and he was fine after that.

So I can understand why parents have there kids in there bed...If its only way your getting sleep that's fine by me.

If Geldof had gone on the show to say the sky was blue, Hopkins would have argued the point in a rude and condescending manner. The subject matter is pretty irrelevant.

That show hires the woman to be controversial. Peaches knew it and called her on it.

I can't believe I'm in agreement with Kate Hopkins. But why be so annoyingly condescending.

Yeah but you're late to the conversation. You've been left with Philip Schofield.
    Sorry.

I'd rather ride him than that Katie Hopkins one.

I can't believe you admitted that.
The woman dislikes 'geographical names' and names her child India...

I thought from the title they were going to bludgeon each other in a cage. I am disappointed.

Katie Hopkins whatever her parents did do the opposite.

As an aside have you noticed how they look alike...Peaches Geldoff and Katie Hopkins I mean. Weird ...that whole thing is like a twilight thing.

This Morning had a poll on whether to have Katie Hopkins back on the show after the name thing. Something like over 90% voted to not have her on again.

She was back on the show a couple of weeks later. Hopkins = Ratings.

I agree with a lot of what she says in general. She's like a female Jeremy Clarkson.

Is that the woman who was on about the names? I didn't watch the video, can't be arsed listening to two people I don't care about, but she looks like it from the thumbnail.

So, between a woman who's only claim to fame is that she happened to come from an egg that was fertilized by the semen of a has-been singer and a woman who is so far up her own arsehole she can see her own cavities.

    Who loses?
    The audience.

For those equally curious about the link, at no point in the 10 minute clip is this decided by a fight to the death.

Ha ha ha, Peaches Geldof, on television for being a daughter and a mother and a...

Katie Hopkins is a vile woman who would do anything to get into the papers. She ridicules her own poor children on television regularly. I feel so sorry for them, she's so cold and condescending and offhand when she talks about them.

I'm no fan of Peaches but I think she carried herself really well, especially when Katie made things personal. That woman makes me see red so I don't know how Peaches kept her cool. She was articulate, but Katie was just rude and aggressive, saying "attachment parents are cr*p parents". How insulting is that?

She shouldn't be allowed on tv. She made a name for herself by getting caught sleeping with someone else's husband. Hope she enjoys her 15 minutes of fame knowing her children are going to hate her when they grow up.

She said that one a few times along with knit your own birkenstocks

What is the point of this woman? She didn't even actually participate in a debate, she just trotted out some insults and pointless comments. She comes across as deranged to be honest. At least Peaches actually backed up her side with some research stats.

I didn't say I agreed with her on everything. I said I can't believe I find myself in agreement with her here. The exact opposite of what you thought I said.

Actually watched the ten mins. That, smug, disgusting arrogant way she looks at Peaches really pissed me off.

I'd say she's a nightmare to live with. I wouldn't even ask her does she know how to play hide the sausage.

Peaches on the other hand has turned into a cracking bird!

That Hopkins woman didn't do herself or her viewpoint any favors, she comes across as an odious peddler of sound bites.

I think that Peaches came across very well. I liked that she advocated balance and judgement.

I've practiced attachment parenting to a degree with all of my children and I've definitely seen it taken too far. It's all about being in tune with your child's needs at their particular stage- you don't respond to a nine month old the same way you do a newborn, or a three year old. I would demand feed up to three months but slowly establish a routine so that there would be no comfort feeding at all by six months, which works really well for me and my family.

Babies don't come with a manual, you need to work out the parenting thing for your own family, but most of the principals of attachment parenting are, as Peaches says, instinctive. There are twats like Hopkins on both sides of the fence who profit from doling out guilt to impressionable mothers.
