I am of there at the end of next week & have looked at various weather forcast websites and of course they are all saying different things.

Is anybody there / going next week that knows what I might need to expect??

    C-c-c-c-c-c-c-c-c-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-l-l-l-l-l-l-l-l-l-l-l-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

But usually dry and bright by day. If you wrap up warm, it's fine. It'll be worse in the New Year, so now is the time to go. It's an enormous city, so I would say you'll be doing a moderate amount of walking, if you're exploring beyond Mitte and inner Kreutzberg/Prenzlauer Berg, which means lots of cozy S-bahn and U-bahn transport to get you places.

The city is geared towards winter cosiness (or gemeutlichkeit), so drop in everywhere for winter warmers/beers and you'll be fine.

The end of next week is more than 10 days away so I'm not surprised you're getting different forecasts, you may as well ask Mystic Meg! Be patient and check in the middle of next week i.e. 2-3 days before you go, you'll find that the forecasts will be more consistent (and accurate) at that stage.

It's been 6 or 7 degrees Celsius for the past 24 hours at Schoenefeld airport so pretty nice but that can change quickly. Either way, you'll definitely need multiple layers and a woolly hat because it will probably be very cold after dark..

Thanks everyone. I am going to buy some layers today - Some long and short t shirts!
I will check the forecast obliviously just before I go but was just curious as to know what to expect if people knew :)
So i take it it won't be covered in snow!!?

It could be. It was only a few years ago that we had snow in Dublin in November.

    Greetings from Berlin.

Right now, it's a bit nippy and a bit wet, much the same as Ireland.

Based on previous winters, you can expect temperatures to be about 0 to 5, give or take. Not a massive difference between day and night. Berlin has been known to drop a good 10 degrees literally overnight, though, but that's not usual. Verfy unlikely to be snowing that soon.

You;ll be here for the start of the Christmas markets - get some nice fingerless gloves and splash out on the gluhwine (for an extra 50c they'll even throw a shot of rum into it for you!) Tschuss!

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

That's a surprising aspect of Berlin weather I've noticed. In the last 24 hours for example the temperature hasn't varied by more then 2 C (Min 4, Max 6) at Schoenfeld airport... http://weather.noaa.gov/weather/current/EDDB.html

Is that normal for Berlin or just a current phenomenon because there's stable cloud cover?

There's more of a notcieble difference in the spring/summer months, but late autumn into winter it stabilises. Not sure why.

Thanks for that!! :) If it is the same as Ireland there at the moment, warm clothes will be needed! I know this might seem like a silly question, I am curious to know the best type of shoes to wear? would normal ladies winter boots be al right or snow/walking boots!?...

Ladiers winter boots will probably be fine. I'd say pack warm, but I I seriously doubt you'll need to be packing for snow!

If anything, the weather forecast is predicting it to get a bit warmer over the next week or so, so I'd say just pack for a standard week/end of Irish weather and you'll be fine.

Having just gotten back I can say the weather was grand and not nearly as bad as I was fearing, very little rain and not quite as cold as I was expecting.
