DIY Upgrades In Order To Use 11.1V LiPo?

    Hi Guys,

What, if anything, should I be looking at upgrading in a JG G36C if I want to use an 11.1V LiPo battery (to give me fast rate of fire), but not run into any reliability issues?

I imagine most of the shops will have a tech guy that will carry out any upgrades, but I dare say I might be able to tackle simpler stuff, particularly if it's just a matter of swapping out old (original) for new (upgrade).

    Thanks,

    Mark

Don't bother with 11.1v lipos (just my opinion).

    Low res wiring.
    Mosfet.
    Deans.
    7.4v lipo.
    High speed gears.
    Torque motor.

Just my basic recommendation, research these a bit yourself.

To reliably run an 11.1V lipo, you're talking mosfet, low resistance wiring, deans connectors, reinforced piston/piston head (w/ AOE mod), shimmed gearbox, steel bushings.

    Interesting comments guys - thanks.

I wonder if the internals of APS' newer UAR501 are genuinely capable of long reliable life using 11.1v LiPo, as implied on their website?

    "High Cycle Ready

Customer reported that sometimes the BB doesn’t shoot out continuously in High Cycle mode. Therefore, we modified the air seal nozzle of our new UAR. After testing, the gun is now working perfectly under 11.1v Li Po Battery.

My son loves his JG G36C, and is getting an APS UAR for crimbo, and asked me (after hearing guys at sites talking about LiPo, and reading/watching stuff online) if his G36C and/or the UAR could use a LiPo for higher ROF.

APS have been, are and always will be a pile of crap in my book. Non-standard parts, other gearbox shells don't fit, shít trigger contacts. Unless they've improved in the past few months I haven't been around (have they?).

I have run lipo's in stock/barely upgraded AEGs, but even then only used it on semi, a huge thing with such a high ROF will always be trigger discipline.

Seems like they're saying the current UAR is a newer and better gun, addressing shortcomings in previous versions.

"UAR501 upgraded version is now available

Inherits the advance feature like mirror design, fully aftermarket parts compatible, V3 Gear box feeds M4 magazine…etc from the existing UAR, the new upgraded UAR501 has more special features that you did not find in the existing model

When I see one in the flesh and have a decent look, my opinion could change, but I'll go with what I know!
