    Share placing at 7c. 1 for 3.

I think its worth a putting in the extra few euro at this stage and sitting back to see if Denis can work a bit of magic.

Unfortunately he'd have to work a lot of magic for me to break even.
Important lesson learnt though, sometimes it's best to just cut your losses!

Unfortunately, I learned the lesson too late so make any difference so have decided to stick it out and see if I can claw a bit back. Surprised to see16c today. I was expecting a bit of a pull back after yesterday's news.

I hadn't bother to look at my spreadsheet on INM for a long while but decided to see what the new placing ment last night. It actually looked great for a couple of minutes until I remembered the 1 for 7 split in 2010. Unfortunately most of my buying was done 2009. Guess I won't be dining out them this Christmas or for many more either.

I know they don't have a whole lot of cash to spare but I think Storyful would have been a great opportunity for them. It would have been perfect for developing the online end of things they are planning.

Depends ..how long do you want to hold for? it will go lower and higher this year .. More cost cutting on the way.. Meeting next WK to outline... After many years of profligacy.. They could finally be fit for purpose. I would be surprised if they don't do some reverse stock split within 2 yrs...

Hi lads I bought some inm in 2012/2013 around the 25 cent mark. What does this mean after the new share issue? Is my share holding now reduced?
    Thks

Your number of shares is still the same but your %% of the company has been reduced.(because extra shares have been printed)

Cool so is that the only implication for me? I see up the thread someone mentioned something about a 1 for 3 split or something along those lines. Not relevant for me?

Nothing that will reduce the number of shares in your holding, but maybe some form of split in the future .(nothing in the pipeline yet, and would take a few months to approve if announced)

The 1 for 3 referred to was for the rights issue before Christmas. If you have shares from 12/13 then you should have been included in the offer. For every 3 shares you owned you would have been offered the chane to buy 1 new share @7c.

Results week and the recent announcement of the CEO change should make for an interesting short term outlook. Perhaps the phrase 'all news is good news' counts more so for a news outlet!

The actual numbers for 2013 probably won't be much of a surprise. Its starting 2014 practically as a new company so any guidance will be watched closely. Also it will be interesting to see any plans they have to shift more towards digital media and how they plan to make money from it. Cracking that will be the key but its going to be a slow burner. I have faith in DoB so have high hopes for INM this year.

I bought at 17c recently and holding now at a loss - well I haven't sold. I like recent move to exit SA co. and concentrate more on Irish media. I'm not sure about trend towards digital / online. I tend to look at what's happening on the ground - for example kids want IpADS so buy Apple. Irish economy recovering buy BOI, it's worked so far.....! We shop at Aldi, sell Tesco etc etc. My on the ground personal experience is that I used to buy the indo twice a week like clockwork, but now it's available online. The online version is good and it's free. Bummer to load and bombarded with ads but I never check the ads. So my gut is telling me there is a move to online media. Now we're both here 50+ a little so even the 'grey' are moving online. I can see it in our household. So why did I buy INM? Gut feeling and it's fallen from comparatively stellar SP. Can they generate enough revenue from ads online? So I'm in two minds about INM; I feel the hardcopy newspaper thing is in decline.

I looked around our sittingroom yesterday evening. TV off! 6 people including ourselves, our children and neighbours' children all on laptops or iPads. What is that telling us? Is it the incipient demise of print? I also cleared out a load of books from the house in the last few days and we're being a bit ruthless about this. So if the whole of society is slowly abandoning the print medium, what stocks will soar? Intel? Domino's Pizza? Ready-Meal companies? Candles? What stocks might fall? UPC, Sky, I don't know. I'm sticking with INM for an upward trend over the next 1 year as a short-term bet.

    I don't do long-term investing.
