I am working on a website for a local restaurant and want to try talk them into getting some very high quality photographs taken of some of their dishes.

Something like these would be ideal (see this website) but would like to understand what's involved.

Can images like these be taken at a restaurant or are they done in a studio?

Is this a specialist thing or can any good photographer take good food photos?

I would only need a few shots (no more than six) so ballpark how much would we be looking at to get done? Is it hundreds of euro or thousands?

The restaurant is in Cork so if anyone wants to PM me a local photographer that I can talk to that would be great.

    Thanks!

You would need a specialist food photographer to get this done right. They would be best taken onsite at the restaurant, the photographer can setup a min studio plus you have access to all the food!

You could try Roger Overall in Cork - He does food photography but I have no idea of what he might charge

Definitely should be in hundreds not thousands.
I was looking for a photoshoot and average was 250 for 3h plus for prints, can't see it would be more but you never know...
