I have an 05 VW Golf. Suddenly on Saturday the Emission Control/Engine Management Light & and Power Steering System lights came on. I've tried a restart, and a visual inspection of the engine. All appears fine. The car is driving fine. No unusual noises or vibrations - any ideas?

You will need to get the car scanned to see what fault codes have been stored in the ECU.

    Where are you based ?

If you were in Kildare i'd offer to scan it for you, maybe there will be another member closer to you who can scan it.

OSI - No, car is running fine, sounds fine and feels fine.
The lights came on Saturday lunch time. I restarted in the evening, lights still there. And still there this morning.

Thank you everyone for your help. I got in to the car last night, pressed the accelerator once before starting and hey presto! The lights are gone!
