Is new battery causing high revs in idle?

Drove from limerick to galway on sat no problems. When I I got to galway parked at shopping center left the lights on and the 11 year old battery died. Frustration and tiredness allowed me to be talked into having the aviva call out guy replacing the the battery there and then at a premium.

Driving home from car park the car started revving to 2 - 3 k rpm when sitting in traffic or coasting. Still doing so. Is this a result of the battery and can I use it as an excuse for him to take the battery away and for me to replace it with my own one? Not due to pay until friday.

02 focus. It happened on saterday and the recovery guy left me his number in case there was a problem. Was just wondering is it the battery that's the cause before I contact him.

also can I tell him to take the battery away... or is it just a connection or something. He fitted a bosch s 40 I think it was. A much larger battery than the original ford battery that was in it.

Bosch S4? That should be fine in a Focus.
Afaik there no extra stuff needed when replacing the battery (some modern cars may need recalibrating etc).
If problem persists you can try disconnecting the black cable for 30 mins or more, this should reset the ecu. Leave car unlocked just in case and bonnet up.
Let us know if this worked.
