Kitchen smells of sewage after cleaning waste drain

I cleared a blockage in the access hole where the kitchen/dishwasher/sink etc drainage runs out. Ever since, there has been a sewerage or greasy smell in the kitchen that you would associate with the drain.

Are there smells coming back up the drain? Have I disrupted something?

The smell isn't really strong but it noticeable.

    Thanks

I didn't touch anything under the sink or disconnect anything. The only part I touched was the manhole cover outside and the plastic grid which was blocked.

Not sure if it make a difference, but we recently got a new dishwasher fit and washing machine need ed to be moved slightly. However the smell only occurred after I worked on the waste drain

Put a smear of car grease around the cover and refit it, this will form an airtight seal and stop smells escaping.

Do you mean a seal around the outside access hole cover? Or the cover within the access hole? This cover is a grid so it needs to let the water escape in there.

I'm not quite sure what you mean.

It's strange that the smell seams to be coming from under the sink and not the sink hole, yet I didn't touch anything inside the house whatsoever

Is there traps on the dishwasher and WM drain pipes to stop smell. If there is then you might have disturbed a seal or connection. I strongly suspect that your getting a smell from the gunk that's in the pipes rather than from the gully trap outside.
Check all traps, and connections and put some Mr Muscle down all 3 drains. Sink +WM+DW

Assuming that nothing has been disturbed, the only way smells could be coming in is if the water seal is getting pulled out of the sink tap.
It is possible that after cleaning the drain outside, the flow in that main drain is now much faster flowing past the point where your sink enters the drain. It has been known that this flow can syphon the water seal from your U bend. If the water is no longer there, you will get smells from the sewer.
It is more likely to be something you disturbed though.
