Is there an easy way to learn latex, I need to post equations on physics and maths and scanning them and up loading these takes ages and then people can read my writing.

There's a latex thread stickied at the top.

www.maths.tcd.ie/~dwilkins has a good tutorial. I learned mostly through trial and error though! :)

    I think everybody did :D

The funny thing is that I know FAR more about Latex than microsoft word.

    Thanks guys

If you are going to be posting the odd question on forum like boards, learning to use the latex system is a bit of overkill. Don't get me wrong, I am a huge fan of latex and think that everyone should learn it at some stage. However, for posting on boards, just click quote to see how to post the following

    subscripts/superscripts
    [latex] f_{i}(x) = x^2 [/latex]

    fractions, roots and integrals

    [latex] \int_{0}^{1} \frac{1}{\sqrt{x^2+1}} dx [/latex]

That will allow you to post a lot of basic mathemtical stuff. You can learn all the stuff about installing and compiling the full latex system later, I think
