    Hi everyone,
I'm currently doing a FETAC level 5 course in Health and Safety at Work through distance learning. All is going well so far but I'm wondering if its possible to view past exam papers? Some of the course is marked on assessments but there is a 90 minute exam at the end of the course and I'm unsure what this will contain. Any advice would be appreciated!

    Hi.

I assume its module D20165 you are doing as this is whats now considered to be the 'older' module. Its is available out into 2014, when it is due to be replaced with a newer updated module 5N1794.

While it is possible that you are doing the newer Health & Safety At Work module its more likely to be the old one. Either way, both have a 1hr 30min exam which should not be too difficult, as it represents 40% of the overall grade. Past exam papers would be tutor or training centre specific really. Aldatus Healthcare and Safety in Limerick http://aldatus.ie run a lot of those courses. The module descriptor is provided by FETAC and its up to the centre then to submit a 'course' layout and brief for approval.

There is a Module Descriptor available on the Fetac website, that together with your assignment/brief sheets should prepare you very well for the upcoming exam. Your tutor will have gone through everything (or should have !!)

Hi I am looking to do a Fetac level 5 in Health and Safety and my head is wrecked. I know it is a worthwhile qualification and it will enable me to progress in work but there is two things that just keep holding me back, time and cost.

I have been looking for a provider for the last almost two years that had this course running as an evening course and is affordable. To my surprise in September I found just that but nearly had a heart attack when I realised that I was two weeks late. I contacted the said provider with haste to plead with them to let me on the course but was informed that it didn't go ahead due to numbers.

So why am I here babbling on about it; well there is an opportunity for this course to run after Christmas if there are sufficient numbers, myself and another work colleague have put our names down but that simply is not enough. If there is anyone out there that is in the same position and has been looking for this course as an evening course give me a shout on this or PM me or something. The location is Dublin 5ish I'm not 100% but it's a school or college.

If anyone knows of this course running anywhere within striking distance of north Dublin as an evening course and around the €200 mark please let me know; Dublin, Louth, Meath, Kildare, Wicklow would all be considered.

    Thanks

    Hi RockAfella,

You can do this course online with 'The Open College'

Its costs 259 and you can start at any time. You then have three months to complete.
I did this course last year but had problems because they could not provide an exam location in Cork like we had agreed for my final exam but I had enough marks from my project to achieve a pass grade anyway.

I am not allowed to post the link to the page here because I am a new user but you should be able to find it fairly easy.

    Hope this helps.

Colaiste Dhulaigh in Coolock (beside Northside Shopping Centre) have one on their website, but it started in October - it's probably too late to join it now but you could see are they running it again.
