    Hello fellow Members

I have just heard and had it confirmed that I'm wasting my time sending in my 3 stars because I don't have a TV licence. I have used search engine on the net and a cork discussion page has also confirmed this to be true...

Apparently all 3 star tickets are checked upon arrival by members of RTE and if you don't have a TV licence your chance of being on the show is Zero... And tickets are doubled checked to confirm this.

I think this is total and utter disgraceful as some people may genuinely not have a TV and will not be allowed on the show because of this...

Surely what they are doing is a crime

You have no TV licence = No successful entry to live show!! 4 votes

    This is totally acceptable

    This is not acceptable

When you say 'confirmed' do you mean 'rumoured'?

I'd imagine they'd have to publish this restriction in a terms and conditions?

I'm thinking it's not, but get on to the guards/Consumer Association/Ombudsman.

    Insert giant facepalm pic here.

Complete and utter krap. RTÉ have nothing to do with tickets for WS. The national lottery control, process and supply all entries.
Posting sh1t like the above makes you look foolish.

My mate's cousins friends Auntie read on Facebook they also can tell whether you watch the Angelus.
If you miss more than 10% of the gong show episodes in one week RTE will not let you on Winning Streak either.

I'm so surprised they put any effort or preparation in that show. It generally like looking at a slow car crash( involving oaps who are not quite sure where they are). But the fake laughs from presenters is the worst.

But at least the prizes are cash now and not a ****ty newbridge silver ware set like in the past.

I have read on a Irish Web site that a poster is an actual employee and has said that their is 5000 people employed to check each ticket 2 times and it's fact.

    5000 people?

Seriously April fools is over 4 months away.

Let's just think about this for a second, I don't have a tv licence as I don't own a tv, but if I enter, how are they going to know that I don't own a tv, and hence don't have a licence??

You really think RTE employees work that hard? Don't be silly.

If this is untrue then I would like an RTE employee to confirm or argue this

5000 people employed solely to check Winning Streak tickets. Assuming they're working a 37 hour week, on minimum wage - that's about 85 million quid a year that RTE would spend verifying that Winning Streak winners have a TV licence.

    Right.

    Take your pick.

    ''Howz it going ye langers"

Stopped reading there. Seriously that forum confirms nothing. I could create a thread and 'confirm' that people with a surname of McNally don't get picked.

Now I've read it on an Irish website too so it must be true.

Please don't post crap like this without actual evidence. Thanks.
