I'm looking to buy a "Business Casual" / Office Wardrobe on a budget...

Thinking shirt, sweater / sweater vest, khakis / cords, etc. rather than shirt and tie.

    Any suggestions?

Next, Dunnes and Marks and Spencer are definitely worth a look. What kind of budget are you looking at?

Budget is around €100 for slacks, 2 shirts, and a sweater. Plus another €50 for shoes.

Keep an eye in Clark's for the shoes, they often have a promo rack of shoes going. Good quality and comfortable.

    Thanks - good suggestion.

Looking for something along these lines:

TK Maxx is a good place to look as is Dunnes and Marks and Spencers.

Thanks Miaireland - however, I would need to be sedated before heading for TK Maxx - that place is chaos under a roof!

I used to think that too. I have now dicovered half nine in the morning is the ideal time to hit it.

Actually keep an eye on debenhams too. They often have good sales.

    M&S mensware is pretty good.

It is expensive, but I think the cover the business casual look very well.

Thanks gents - Debenhams looks like a good bet. Are their staff any use in making suggestions? One of the downsides of TK Maxx, of course - and my eye for fashion ain't the Mae West!

Some Debenhams have a personal shopper kind of thing. It is free, just make an appointment.

It is handy to get an idea what colours/styles suit you.

Penneys is worth a try, probably not the greatest quality, but well within your budget. Also try Burtons.

If you can stretch to 70 on the shoes, M&S do really good ones. Sturdy and reliable.

If you're wearing suit jackets with no tie, you could snazz them up with a nice pocket square, a la:

Thanks for all the help folks. Got sorted - Debenhams, H&M, and a hit-and-run attack on TK Maxx - not a bad morning's work.

Got 2 sweaters, 3 shirts, chinos, and a jacket & scarf for under €200. Happy with that.

My old brogues will need to do another while!

If you want to go all out and finish it off with the shoes, there is a 20% off voucher for M&S in the bargain alerts forum valid from tomorrow til Monday (I think) so you could save yourself a few quid on the shoes
