One shot on kill

I went out for a quick shot tonite just before dark.

Rush rush rush.

Anyway while sitting on th edge of a field about 80-100 yards of the boundry of the forest I could here what sounded like a horn sound. But sounded like it was been blown by a mouth.

I could here the whistle of a deer and said to my self I'm on here this evening for a shot.

After about 15 mins the horn sounded close next thing I see it a light in the trees and hearing the horn. Then two lights. I was like wtf is going on here.

Couple of things went through my mind. Shine my light back to let them know I was there let a shout to let them know. Or just sit tight and wai for them to pass.

I decided to let them pass on because they hadn't a clue I was there at all. So they came right to the edge of the forest and turned around an walked back I to it. Now lads it was pitch black at this stage and they were still blowing the horn.

The light wasn't a lamp but a light to see where they were going. I hung around for another half hour to see if they came back and they didn't so I headed on.

Anyone come across anything like this before and any one any idea what thy were even doing.

Never mine I was gonna say it sounded a bit like a horn for the hunts.

I wonder was there a hunt on around there today I'll ask the farmer tomorrow. Haven said that I did hear a shot ring out but I couldn't say of it was anything to do with the boys. Or even if it was before or after I seen them.

It was a to dark to see to be honest. But they were covering ground aswell to be fair weren't hanging around.

Wouldnt call that a horn.. Something used with hounds is what id of called a horn.

Agree Garv that its not a horn but a call, simular to duck calls.
I could only get a UK video of hunting sounds - but they are more or less universal for mounted or foot packs

Well I tell ye now boys it wasn't to far off the sound of that. They were a bit more consistent with there sound doe.
