    To whom it may concern....

We are coming up from Cork to see London Grammar at The Acadamey, 57 Middle Abbey Street, Dublin 1 on 3rd December and we were just wondering if anyone could recommend a good quality hotels located within a short walking distance or a short taxi ride nearby... reasonably priced parking would be essential also.

    Any recommendations most welcome.

    Regards,
    Anthony

That is just a couple of minutes walk off O'Connell Street so anywhere city centre will be accessible by foot or a short taxi ride away really. Have a search and see how far from O'Connell Street the hotels are - this will more or less be how far from the venue they are also.

Edited to add: The Academy is also right on the Luas line between the Abbey St. and Jervis St. stops so somewhere on the red Luas line will also be suitable (provided you are heading back before the Luas stops running :))

charles stewart parnell is a hotel just a 5-10min walk from the Academy - its basic enough but its a bed for the night and within a stones throw of the gig.

Dublin isn't a particularly big city. Within 10 minutes walk of the academy you have 100s of hotels. Depends,on what you're looking for.

You could try Clarion or Jurys in IFSC and get Luas from there or if you are feeling posh The Gibson which is at last stop on Luas by the O2.

I work not far from there. I would stay in the Gresham according to google maps its 550m

Its nothing too fancy but would make for a nice place to crash after a gig!

The Morrison on the quays is only a 2 or 3 minute walk as well.

Cheers for all the help and advice.... parking is the big issue.... thinking of staying at the Clontarf Castle Hotel now... for the parking and just pay for a Taxi into the gig.

    Thanks to everyone.

Taxi fare from Clontart Castle and back would be the guts of €30, you could probably park overnight in the city centre for a lot less. What time would you be planning on getting to Dublin and leaving the next day? You could leave the car in Heuston Station overnight for €8 I think.

Or in Q-Park just off O'Connell Street (Marlborough Street) which is open 24 hours. I think it is €13 to park for a full 24 hours but check that on their website.

    Nice hotel.
The 130 bus goes from the coast road just a 5 mins walk from the hotel into Abbey street, which is just a 2/3 min walk from the venue itself.

A taxi from Abbey Street to clontarf shouldn't be any more than €15.

Also if you stay in the Morrison Hotel, it's only €12 or €13 per day in Jervis Street and you're 5 minutes from the academy.
