His interview with the BBC a couple of months ago was gut wrenching. The greatest scrum half I've ever seen, without doubt.

Yeah I just watched his interview and it was very moving indeed.

    Legend of the game....

...to be honest, words fail me at this moment...

Puts things in perspective. Doubt I could deal with it so bravely.

I already mentioned in the other thread, that the disease scares the crap out me, mind is still as bright as a button, speech struggling , visually deteriorating, he's an incredibly brave man.

Growing up in the 90s as a teenage scrum half I can genuinely say this guy was my hero. Very sad to see him now, however as inspirational a player he was, the way he is facing up to this battle, which as Justin Marshall rightly said is a battle he cannot win, is even more inspirational than his incredible rugby abilities.

the guy had it all, the physique, the skill, the looks

and now look, life can be cruel

the quote that stood out for me was when he said...

    "this disease has humbled me"

not many would have the guts and honesty to say something like that

I HATE that disease and it sends shivers down my spine when you see those who have been condemed by it. He was one of the best players I have ever seen. How he can be so positive is incredible, with 2 small kids myself its scary how quick this can happen to any of us and the fear it would put through a man for his kids.
Incredibly sad, and all we worry about is the result yesterday and next weeks game.
