First time I had it was back at the start of the summer, maybe late April or May, not quite sure. It was from the bottle and to be honest, I though it was pretty bland myself.

Then I had it on tap in The Black Sheep in Late August/September and thought it was delicious.

So maybe it's either a consistency issue or the bottled version just isn't as good as the kegged version, I don't know, but try it again on tap if you can, and try the others, especially the Rye, if you get a chance.

well i had the amber also and still not impressed,

but both are from bottles, i still the the IPA in the fridge and to be honest I'm not too pushed to open it from the first 2 i had.

if i see it on tap ill try them again.

i didnt see the rye in molloys whe i got them i thought "OH new irish beer ill get them" they had only 3 types, it strikes me as strange to a production beer to have sediment in the bottle, very home brewish (hot that im opposed to homebrew)

It's caused by bottle conditioning, it's completely normal and a massive amount of breweries do it from Sierra Nevada in the US to Coopers in Australia to Dungarvan in Ireland.

My brother just gave me a bottle of the Rye for my birthday, I've had it before and it's a really good example of the style imo.

One of the best Irish beers available.

Their 'Scraggy Bay' IPA (yellow label) and their 'Devil's Backbone' red ale (red label) are both top class Irish beers, IMO.
