Take Away Deliveries

    Hi

I'm 18, in college and unemployed. I got my full license in September and recently started thinking about doing deliveries for take aways in the evenings to earn a few quid. Ive replied to a few adds on gumtree but I'm not holding out much hope on that front. I'm just wondering has anyone ever done this and could they tell me firstly, how does one go about getting the job ? I'm assuming its just a matter of going into a take away and asking but should I give a CV ? or would I be better off to ring ahead first. Secondly whats the job like ? A mate of mine lives in a dodgey area and he says he seen everything from drivers getting their food robbed to even getting a brick over the head on one occasion. Also whats the earning potential ? I'm not looking for a full time wage, just enough to keep a student going. So if anyone could help me out, maybe share a few experiences that'd be great. Cheers in advance.

Most likely just a little bit above minimum and whatever tips you get. Some places still do say €30 plus €2 per delivery but revenue have started to craic down on this now and in some case are insisting on back payment to drivers.

Most places do it per delivery, but unless you're constantly delivering short distances, your fuel bill will make the job too costly.
