Planning a dinner party, and want to make ac desert cocktail.

    Any suggestions ?

My cabinet has a selection of rums, whisk(e)ys, vodkas, gins, choc liquor, amaretto, butterscotch schnapps, martini white / dry, tequila, absinthe, angostura bitters, kahula, cointreau, hennessy.

I'm don't have a lot of flavoured stuff, but I don't mind buying it if I can get some use from it.

    Ideas ?

    Kahlua, Chocolate and coffee Sorbet.

    500 ml good black coffee
    125g caster sugar
2 table spoons of good cocoa
    6 shots Kahlua

Put the sugar, cocoa and coffee in a saucepan and bring to the boil, stirring occasionally until the sugar and cocoa are fully dissolved . Remove from the heat and leave to cool, then add kahlua and mix. Freeze for about 4 hours but go back to it every 30m - 45 minutes and give it a good stirr to break up the ice crystals to make it smoother.

That sounds nice, but one person hates kaluha.

    Any other suggestions

Not so much cocktail than just a nice simple after dinner drink, but Hennessy over a few cubes of heavy ice with a lemon wedge squeezed and dropped in.

A extra dry martini is perfect for all occasions. And you can give people the choice of gin or vodka.

And this "might" be nice, but could be too sour for some guests. 1 oz Cointreau, 1 oz Amaretto, 1/2 lime. The recipe I have calls for a full lime, but I'd only use half to not over power the Cointreau, but give an extra wedge as garnish so if they want more sour it's just a squeeze away.

I've never been a big after dinner drinker TBH, but the 1st and 3rd should carry off well with nice fruit flavour but not too harsh of an alcohol taste.

I gotta start me a drinks cabinet....

Gonna be hard to find one everyone likes. I reckon several people will not like tequila & absinthe & gin & martini.

+1, TGI do/did some cocktail which is more like a dessert, think it had baileys in it.
