Its getting to the whole Christmas time thing - buy buy buy they tell us.

And in fact there are one or two little treats I might like.

But the question is - should one buy now, or suffer the terrible hardships of waiting til January sales for my consumer goods.

ex: I reckon if I wait til Jan. the phone Im looking at will drop by maybe 40 euro.

Saving me money and letting me be alll smug about my excellent shopping skills.

Im going to put a poll on this because polls make even mediocre threads look good.

That there lies your problem then, put a bit of effort into it and eventually you will learn how to sling it into one of the ears.

Wait until mid January to save 40 quid on a phone?
Depends on whether you value having a new phone for the next eight weeks at a cost of a fiver a week! What value will you get from the phone now?

Plus there will probably be a newer and more expensive phone out in a couple of months you'd be tempted to buy

Buying stuff in January is sensible but the parsimoniousness of it always depresses me.

You can't beat lashing out the money for things you shouldn't really buy but really want and then navigating the Christmas streets to a pub for a guilty pint or two.

People that wait for sales don't fully grasp the buzz of inappropriate purchase and quite possibly are the kind of people that iron their socks and underwear.

Ah, Christmas thread ...he must mean parsnips.
    Wonder why parsnips depress him.

OK. You're buying yourself a treat for Christmas but it might be cheaper in Jan.

    Dilema.

Will you be really upset on Christmas Morning if you haven't bought yourself your present?

Will you bitch about yourself to everyone about how selfish you are?

Will you give yourself the silent treatment?

If no to all the questions above, wait till Jan.

I can do without either. But here's one I normally like... Carrots. But when I see mashed carrots, I always think "damn, someone must really hate them carrots :pac:"

I've never bought a coat that I really really liked in the January sales.

See the coat you want. Buy it. Take it home. Do it now. Do it.

Otherwise, it's like waiting til ten minutes left in the nightclub. All the good coats are gone. Only the shabby ones are left.

Blah blah. Whatever drunks do now, with their regrets. That's what I'm doing. I'll stop now. Good night.:pac:
