I assume there's no service history

    What year is the car?

Its a 2004, I haven't seen the service history but have seen its NCT reports which are ok. I was surprised when I saw that result, there's little wear on the inside and the seats are pretty perfect. Its supposed to have 60000 miles anyway.

Do ya'll know how the INMR gets those mileage readings?

Does it have a service history with receipts? If it does and you can call and verify service schedule with dealers you could go with it, otherwise avoid.

    Nct reports from what years?

Out of interest is it petrol or diesel?

PM me a link to the ad if you like

Its possible that the 07/01/11 to 21/03/11 readings is a miles/km mix up (it would mean that the car traveled 7000 miles in three months though...), but there is no real explanation for the discrepancy before that.

I've seen the NCTs from the last two (2010 and 2012) which predates when it looks like its been clocked. I'll try get more service history and tax book and nct reports now, if i can't get a look at them I'll be steering clear!

Yeah will PM that to you now. Cheers folks

Anyone clocking it would do it before its nct.

Its a nice clean looking car granted, but those discrepancies in the mileage have alarm bells ringing. Id be checking this one out thoroughly before buying, and only buy if you are 100% sure about its history.

I believe it's owned by MotorCheck.ie, they share the same postal address and phone number.

When you do a check on the car you input current mileage and that gets logged.. If those two odd readings are around the time it changed owners I wouldnt worry too much..

it looks to me that in the two readings highlighted in red that they entered 70,000 miles, then at the next reading instead of entering 77,000 miles they put in 77,000 kilometres

could be wrong but it may be just a stupid error

Even if it was 77,000 miles or km, its still less than was on in in 2008.
The odometer readings put in were all even thousands in miles anyway so that's very unlikely.

From the look of things I doubt there will be much needed to verify. The odd time you do get incorrect discrepancies, but the fact that the exact same 82,000 was entered 3 times over 4 months looks like it may have been advertised at this mileage and each potential buyer checked that out. I'd be near certain that it is clocked at least once if not twice.

Also, little wear on the inside doesn't really mean as much as it used too imho. I have a Focus van with 240k km on the clock and I reckon with a valet you could easily pass it for half that.

Those readings are all over the place. Usually there might be a mix up with one or two but when it's now lower than it was in 2008 either in Kms or miles I would be running away.
