Hi all first off I don't know if this is right place to post but here it goes...

I want to install a shelf in my boiler room, about 2 and and half foot above.
The shelf will be made from 2 by 1 and ply.

So what you guys think is this safe?

I would say you have 2 things to consider. The cables and heat. The cables are pretty easily to sort. Trace their path and ensure you don't damage them when you drill the holes for the 2 x 1.

The heat is an issue only you can decide upon. Comparing your boiler to mine and the height you want to put the shelf it appears to be ok to me.

Before putting the shelf in I would consider how effective your boiler safety features are in case of a fire. Flames tend to rise and your wooden shelf and anything on it will be next in line.
Personally I would not do it. If I needed the shelf and that position was my only option I would use metal for its construction.
