Thinking of getting a pickup was thinking of a Dyna one of the 1 ton little ones with the single rear wheels.
Any idea what they are like on diesel ?
I heard they are lethal in the ice but a very reliable motor ?
Any opinions , advice appreciated or alternative vehicles.
    Thanks

Uber reliable, horrible to drive, worse if you're big. They're a yoke you either need, or don't need. No-one would elect to drive one just for the craic. A transit pick-up is an alternative. I drive one of them, I used to have dynas...

Would the transit be much heavier on diesel ? The dynas are fetching very high prices (they seem to be popular for export to Africa etc ) I would prefer the Transit but a tidy old one is hard to find.
(I will whisper the next question :-)

    What about an ldv........................

If you can hack the image problem(they have no image), and the fact the dashboard is made out of Arthur Scargills old tupperware, they're a transit underneath. I had one, it was slow, noisy and bouncy, pretty much the same as the Dyna...the dyna breaks slightly less, but costs more.. the Transit is more driveable and nicer to live with. I'm gonna get in mine now and go do some work!
