How come rte don't do a televised show of people in need?

Yes I am watching children in need. The stories are so sad.

They did, many years ago, it was then suggested that it was run every two due to cost to run, plus to give the viewers a break as well. Haven't seen it on since.

Sure every time we have a budget the government is on demanding appealing for money. Their 'needs' are just a little bit different to yer average Ethiopian.

If there was one there would be a good response.

I'm auld enough to remember Live Aid, although we were up to our holes in a recession that was worse than this one per head of population the Irish gave as much if not more than other countries.

    You know.

I wonder. If there was a "Save Ireland" campaign here in the US, would a whole bunch of Americans rush to donate?

I'd set up the website if y'all promise to give me some of the back end.

Cos it would stink of hypocrisy to have it hosted by the likes of Turbidy or Joe Duffy, who earn vast sums of money for little work, but who would have to feign concern for those less well off than themselves.

Ireland did Self Aid back in 1986. The primary objective was to generate jobs but I can't remember if it worked out well
