turntable will need a phono stage (unless it's built in) and then an amp and then speakers. Maybe he has most of this already? If not then get a USB friendly turntable and it will plug into his PC.

The amp will need the phono stage, the cartridge /needle on the record deck / turntable will have low output so amp needs to have a phono input, rega make the best turntables to a reasonable budget, you could spend thousands, or hundreds and buy rubbish, cloney audio blackrock will tell you all you need to know, but budget might be the problem

I'm also looking for a vinyl record player and I'm a bit clueless when it comes to knowing what to get!

It'll need to be an all-in-one.

I was originally thinking of getting the Steepletone player in HMV for €150 -

I had a look at it in the shop and it just didn't look like very nice quality for the price so i'd like to see if I can find something better.

I had a look online and found this nice one that doesn't seem to take up too much space/looks nice -

I'm just not sure if it has speakers included or would need to be plugged into speakers/amp etc.

Can anyone advise me or recommend a good all-in-one player?
I've a budget of about 200 but I could stretch to 250 if needed.
