Retrieving info from my broken phone.

My Lumia 800 won't turn on and I really need to retrieve the text messages from it. Most photos and contacts I have backed up. Is there any way I can get at these messages.

The phone will vibrate when I plug it into my pc or an adapter or a wall socket but that's it then.

The phone fixing shop can do a whole reset but I need the info from it before I completely clear it.

    Please help.

Have you tried a hard reset?
plug it in, let it vibrate and give it a few seconds then hold the power and volume down buttons down until you feel it vibrate again.

No idea if that will help but the odd time my L920 has glitched like that on me that's what i've done.

On a related note, if you have your skydrive backup set then your messages should all be in the cloud.

Not in 7.8 which is as high as the 800 can get. You need to use the Bluetooth data transfer if you are moving from 7.8 to 8.

I did the 'hard reset' as many times as I could without going totally mental. It just wouldn't turn on. It would vibrate but no life on the screen.
That did work when it went like this before.

It's in the phone fixing shop now so if everyone could say a little prayer that my phone gets better and can come back to live with me soon all safe and sound and happy. :)
