I have had umpteen instances in the past few years of where I am left so disappointed with the administration in the Dept of Agriculture. I am talking about ringing reception at Johnstown or Portlaoise or wherever to have it ring out, or being transferred from Johnny to Mary and then back to Jimmy because "none of them really deal with that" or the worst which I don't allow happen anymore, is "is it ok if I ring you back?", where you don't receive a call back and you ring back and from their point of view hopefully someone else deals with you. Just wondering what are your opinions on the service we receive from the department staff and your experiences.

All of the above , seriously I don't think some off them have a clue of what planet their on;never mind anything to do with agriculture.

Lots of DVOs closed in the last year or two, I haven't heard of anyone being laid off though. Know of one lad who retired and is now back on contract, what is he costing tax payers every year?

I can't help but think, and I bear in mind the saying "be careful what you wish for", if a private company were engaged to handle the work there would be 1/10th of the staff and much quicker service.

A private company did the initial stage of a stretch of road here a few years ago. Worked from day break to night fall, guy on the roller also did traffic control. Never a delay.

CoCo finished off the job, the first sign I met the first day they were working there? "Expect Long Delays". Makes a body wonder.

it all depends if you are lucky with who you speak to when you ring, if i do get talking to a total tool, i always just be polite and ring back and hope to get someone else ,no point losing the plot with them
