    Hi guys,

Im having problems with my firebird external oil boiler. It wont fire up for me. When i switch it on the blower comes on for about 10 sec and then cuts out. You cant even hear the spark.
I've checked that there is oil going to the burner
I've checked that there is pressure in the system
I've checked the cut off switch
Can anybody give me some direction?

    Thanks a mill,

    Paul

if it's a Riello burner just lift off the control box and you'll see it

If it was the photocell you would still hear it fire up, it would then go to lock out. If you can't hear it sparking it could be dirty electrodes, when was it last serviced ??

That's correct for the older G3B burner the later RDB burner has the photocell smack bang in the middle of the burner attached to a black cable, a few shacks from side to side while pulling will remove it.

    ok Lads,

I've cleaned the rods, replaced the Nozzle, replaced the photocell, replaced the control unit, checked the oil pressure and the oil pump. and still all im getting is the blower coming on for ten seconds and then turning off. Any other suggestions?

    Regards

    Paul
